Looks really nice, never thought of an ally mill deck, my only suggestion is Traumatize.

cards i'm thinking about are, tramatize, haunting echoes, duress or mind rot, or some kind of bounce or removal.

Don't put in traumatize. I run a mill deck now and it didnt do so great. By the time you get up to five mana there deck might already be half way milled (especially since you run tome scours). For the same cost you're better off putting in an archive trap or 4. With all the fetches out there, it works quite well.

Definitely go with Jace also!!

I think that you should go with the white/Blue path
Acess to path to trigger your traps
acess to a 1 drop ally
acess to join the ranks

immagine this
t1 ally (w defender) (53 left)
t2 mill dude ( first mill is 2 )(50 left)
t3 mill dude( both trigger at 3 a peice for 6) (41 left)
t4 join the ranks ( 2 triggers per ally counting each is 5 per activation and 4 activations is 20 ) (20 left)
t5 anny 2 ally or millspell (ally mills 6 and 7 for 13 or archive trap is 13) (he is at 7 left)
t6 generic millspell or ally and gg

White doesn't go too well with mill, I think the cards you can get from U/B are better.

I would possibly consider a little board control. Maybe a creature kill card and a bounce.

i'll put 2-3 rite of replication. Do the maths when you have 2 excavators in play and rite of replication is played. 49 cards to mill???

I agree that 1-2 Rite of Replication would be great. Kicked on an Excavator is obviously game, but also it's just another Ally or even Crab in a pinch. Heck, kick it on a Crab and play a land.

both the crab and the excavator are effective but the excavator has a little advantage in my opinion, if you play a basic land after you summoned the rite of replication copying the crab (while 2 in play), your opponent mills 21 cards. summoning rite of replication on excavator (already 2 in play) mills 49 cards. now if the opponent survives the turn, on your next turn, if you play another land, the opponent mills another 21 but if you play 1 more ally, you make your opponent mill 64 cards.
Also the crab has no power and could not deal damage and it's strength is also 1 less than the excavator.

get rid of the pulse!!!!!!

changed my mind, Haunting echoes does not work in this. I would take out the nemesis of reasons and put in kathari remnants. You can play them a turn earlier, they'll cascade into mill without summoning sickness, and if you do have the 5 mana you can regen him for the ultimate chump blocker. Not to mention, if you topdeck this like 6th turn, you will cascade an ally that will trigger lots of mill, a free discard, and bigger creature summoning possibilies with the occultist. And that's on top of whatever they ally's ability is that you cascade into. :-D

i've been thinking about Rite of replication as well. My thought is that if i'm going to run a couple of rites i should probably splash green for Harabaz Druid.
I'd probably put the Rites in place of the Nemesis of Reason, and replace the Crabs with the Druid. Take out the Tome Scour for somekind of Black removal.

Which black removal would be best?
Hideous End
Doom Blade
Smother
or Slave of Bolas LOL

doom blade over hideous end for sure; the two life lost won't usually matter for the extra mana

Careful, I think you might be starting to drift away from being a mill deck. I like the Kathari Remnant idea. Similarly, you could try Deny Reality.

i dont see how replacing the crabs would make it less of a mill deck. With the excavators, mind funerals, and archive traps, its definately still a mill deck.
Replacing the Crabs just gives me more allies to trigger the excavators, not to mention giving me the mana to cast all the cards i draw with the Loremaster

don't take the crabs out. they are there as a back up unless your excavators are taken out. Put 4 clones, 4 Rites, 4 crabs and 4 excavators.

remember that you don't have to use 9 mana to use the rite of replication. you have 8 spells that can copy either your crabs or your excavators and if the opponent has a big creature, well then copy his creature instead.

milling him to zero cards is good but it's also a good way of removing that all important card from your opponents library he needs to win.

Ditch the crab. And if they run things to kill the crab focus on discard then mill. Also, doom blade first, smother in the side.

i've been sitting here drawing this deck and seeing what kind of games i'd have and its really week on defense. i'm thinking drop the crab and the tome scour for Doomblade, and Into the Roil. gives me answers to my opponents big threats long enough to get the ally's out to do the milling. With the Mind Funerals and Archive trap's i'm milling pretty fast.

my inner timmy really wants to cram Death's Shadow in here, but my spike wont let him.
