Ryohei Kirino wins Grand Priz Shizuoka

Standard not be the most exciting format at the moment but that does not mean that Magic is missing out on great stories. Take, for example, Ryohei Kirino. Playing in his first Grand Prix at Shizuoka he went undefeated on Day One. He then made the Top 8 and on the back of a Mardu Ballista deck (which he copied from Hall of Famer Owen Turtenwald) took down the entire tournament.

As formats get solved it gives players who have a chance to practice a path to success. With a few more weeks of Aether Revolt Standard other new names may emerge victorious.
