Standard Showdown Announced

A new tournament series was announced today on the Magic homepage. The Standard Showdown will be an event hosted at Local Game Stores on weekends between November 26 and December 17.


These Standard tournaments will award special three card booster packs. The contents of these prize packs will all be in English and will include:


  • A premium card from a currently legal Standard set, including Zendikar Expeditions and Kaladesh Inventions, not including double-faced cards.

  • Two non-premium cards that are either a rare or a mythic rare from a set Battle for Zendikar, Shadows over Innistrad, Eldritch Moon, and Kaladesh. Double-Faced cards are not included in this slot


    • Zendikar Expeditions and Kaladesh Inventions appear in roughly 1 in 33 boosters.
