One of the most exciting cards out of Oath of the Gatewatch is Stone Haven Outfitter. This card is sort of like Skullclamp because it can draw you cards, but there are many things separating it from the powerful equipment. It isn’t a piece of equipment itself, doesn’t help your creatures die, and draws half as many cards, but Frank Karsten thinks it may still be enough to build a powerful engine. Is a fixed version of Skullclamp still enough to dominate Standard? There’s only one way to find out:

There are a number of powerful things you can do with Stone Haven Outfitter, and Frank Karsten outlines a few of them in his article. The most interesting build to me is one focused on utilizing Eldrazi Scion tokens, produced with Spawning Bed, Call the Scions, and Eyeless Watcher. The idea is you can equip those Scions with something like Stoneforge Masterwork and then sacrifice them to draw a card and generate the mana to keep moving your equipment around.
Frank’s deck stands out due to the inclusion of Stormrider Rig, since it can equip to all your new Eldrazi Scions for free. This lets Call the Scions become a Divination which generates two colorless mana. The focus on Scions also lets you utilize both Ghostfire Blade and Stoneforge Masterwork to make Scions into real threats in combat. You also have the ability to use Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and Nissa, Voice of Zendikar to pump your team turn after turn, helping to generate a positively overwhelming board position.
The biggest issue this deck faces is consistency. Unless you are able to consistently find Stone Haven Outfitter and the powerful equipment to go with it, you’re playing cards like Blisterpod and Call the Scions in a format where people can play Siege Rhino and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy. Even if you can find the first Outfitter, you have to be prepared for your opponent’s Wild Slash or Murderous Cut for the first copy. If the plan of swarming your opponent with tokens backed by anthems and equipment is good enough, Stone Haven Outfitter is almost certainly enough to push the deck over the top in grindy, attrition-based matchups.
