Under the Bridge

Reddit

Dredge is a deck that most players are familiar with in some capacity. There have been a myriad of iterations on the deck in Modern over the years, some including Gravecrawler and Vengevine, others focused on Bloodghast and Prized Amalgam. What we haven't seen much of in Modern is any build featuring Bridge from Below. The loss of Cabal Therapy makes it difficult to enable the card purely out of the graveyard, and the increased dependency on cards like Greater Gargadon is difficult to manage. That said, there have been some graveyard decks that have been built to try to take advantage of this crazy enchantment:

Bridge from Below
]The idea here is pretty straightforward. You've got Faithless Looting, Cathartic Reunion, and Insolent Neonate to dig through your deck. Your only goal is to put as many copies of Vengevine and Bridge from Below into your graveyard as possible. From there, you can fire off a bunch of zero mana creatures that immediately die and generate a plethora of creatures to beat your opponent down with.

We've seen some variations of this deck featuring cards like Flameblade Adept and Hollow One, but it seems like H0lyDiver has determined that these packages make the deck too clunky and that you really want to focus in on Vengevine and Bridge from Below.

This deck has the potential for some truly degenerate draws. For instance, Faithless Looting on the first turn pitching two of your payoff spells can let you have upwards of 10 power in play on the first turn of the game, sometimes with haste. Sometimes you'll do absolutely nothing because you can't find either Vengevines or Bridge from Below. Sometimes your opponent will have Rest in Peace or Relic of Progenitus.

If you're looking for a high variance deck with a ton of explosive potential, this deck looks like an absolute blast to play. If you know people are skimping on graveyard hate and sweepers, you can absolutely demolish them with this style of deck. You even have the potential to take advantage of an opposing Burning Inquiry if that deck is particularly popular in your local metagame. All in all, this deck is certainly a glass cannon, but it's certainly powerful and explosive. If you play this on the right weekend and don't miss too often, the deck certainly has the raw power to take down an event.
