Longo, Phillipps, Berger Triumph in Providence

Reddit

586 teams showed up to play Return to Ravnica Block team sealed in Providence this weekend. After nine rounds of Day One, only 70 teams returned to draft on Day Two. On Day Two, the team drafting began, and after an additional six rounds, only four teams remained.

Andrew Longo, Eric Phillipps, and Eric Berger did not have an easy path to their Grand Prix victory. In the first round of the Top 4, they had to battle through Martin Juza, Ben Stark, and Shuhei Nakamura. After defeating their opponents in the semifinals, the team had to square off against Matt McCullough, Ari Lax, and Alex John in the finals. The finals were a battle between the aggressive decks drafted by Lax, McCullogh, and John against the slower decks assembled by Longo, Phillipps, and Berger. In the end, Andrew Longo, Eric Phillipps, and Eric Berger took down the event with some help from Blood Baron of Vizkopa and Unflinching Courage to turn the tide against the aggressive starts from their opponents.

Congratulations to Andrew Longo, Eric Phillipps, and Eric Berger, the champions of Grand Prix Providence
