884 players brought their Master of Waves and Pack Rats to Buenos Aires to battle Standard. Little did they know this would be the weekend the Monsters were coming.

After the swiss rounds, the Top 8 featured a surprising spread of decks. Three Sphinx's Revelation control decks, one Blue devotion deck, two Boros burn decks, and one each of Dredge and Jund Monsters. Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa is on a tear, putting up his second Grand Prix Top 8 in the last four weeks. Philippe Monlevade and his monsters, however, were unintimidated by the Hall of Famer, and defeated him in the semi finals.

Philippe met Demian Tejo and his Mono-Blue Devotion in the finals in a battle between Brazil and Argentina. Monlevade flew the Argentinian's swarm of Blue creatures with Stormbreath Dragon to take the match in two quick games.
