Reddit

What’s up, readers! It’s Saturday, and that means it’s time for another Gathering Magic Week in Review full of content for you to enjoy from the past week. From analysis of the Pro Tour results to the latest in Commander decklists, Gathering Magic has you covered! So strap in and join me for another Week in Review!

News and Announcement!

Did you know Gathering Magic has a Tumblr? No? Well, you’d be forgiven for not knowing since we haven’t made use of it for the past year. But, that changed this week as we started posting our content on Tumblr again. In addition to regular Gathering Magic content updates from our main site, our Tumblr will now be home to new, exclusive content like my series on Commander concepts and cards called Cryptic Commander! If you don’t follow us on Tumblr, now is a great time to get involved as we seek to make it better than ever!

Check out the my introduction to Cryptic Commander and the First Installment!

Breaking Down the Pro Tour Results

We have a trio of articles this week that sift through the aftermath of Pro Tour Aether Revolt. Jim gives us the financial lowdown on the latest set, while Kyle and Ben hone in on where the metagame may be headed in the coming weeks.

Commander Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop

In a strange series of coincidences, we had two authors write about Vela the Night-Clad for Commander this week. Check out Abe’s take on a flavor-packed Vela build and Jason’s paradoxical decklist that seeks to kill out of nowhere!

Usman Jamil came back and wrapped up his Aether Revolt Cube Review with part 2! If you’re interested in how the Expertise Cycle and all the other miscellaneous cards in Aether Revolt do in Cube, than look no further!

The Pauper Primer keeps on rolling as Alex dives into the Combo decks that the format has to offer. What? Commons only combo decks? They’re more likely than you think!

And That’s the Way it Was

That wraps another Gathering Magic Week in Review! As always, there’s so much more content on our site than I can put here, so I welcome you to explore everything our site has to offer!

I want to finish this look back at the week by posing a question for discussion.

Now that the Pro Tour has come and gone, where do you think the format will go from here? What cool decks are you building to tackle the newly emerging metagame?

Leave your responses in the comments below, and we’ll see you next week!
