Reddit

With the Pro Tour in the rear-view mirror, the professional community has shifted their focus to the upcoming stretch of Grand Prix. The first event was a player favorite - Team Limited at Grand Prix Beijing. As is so often the case with Team Limited events, the very best in the field ascended to the Sunday stage. The Top 4 teams were:

  • Liu Yuchen, He Yue and Zhang Zhiyang (a member of the 2009 World Magic Cup winning team)
  • Shintaro Ishimura (Pro Tour Paris 2011 Top 8), Yoshihiko Ikawa (Pro Tour San Diego 2010 Top 8) and Kazuyuki Takimura (Pro Tour Battle for Zendikar Champion)
  • Yuuya Watanabe (two time Player of the Year, multiple Pro Tour Top 8s), Makihito Mihara (former World Champion, Hall of Famer) and Yuuki Ichikawa (two Pro Tour Top 8s)
  • Craig Wescoe (multiple Pro Tour Top 8s, Pro Tour Dragon's Maze Champion), Richard Hoaen and Mike Hron (Pro Tour Geneve 2007 Champion)

  • The finals saw the two most expereinced teams: Wescoe, Hoaen, and Hron against Wantanabe, Mihara, and Ichikawa. In the end the team from the other side of the Pacific Ocean prevailed and Wescoe, Hoaen, and Hron raised the trophy.
