Brent Clawson Claws his Way to Victory at Grand Prix Indianapolis

Reddit

Playing Magic is hard enough. Having to win every match in order to have a chance at a trophy is exponentially harder.

That's exactly what Brent Clawson did.

Making it to Day 2 of Grand Prix Indianapolis with a 7-2 record, Clawson had to keep winning to earn a shot at the title. And win he did. He entered a Top 8 that included Hall of Famer Patrick Chapin and 2013-14 Rookie of the Year Raymond Perez Jr.

It was Perez standing in Clawson's way in the finals. Armed with an innovative Esper Tokens deck Perez faltered in the wake of Clawson's tried and true Abzan. In two quick games, his back finally came off the wall.

Congratulations to Brent Clawson, you Grand Prix Indianapolis champion!
