Standard Action – SCG: Indy

SCG: Indianapolis – The Results

Here are the Top 16 decks from StarCityGames Open: Cincinnati. I determined the average mana cost of the main deck and prices in dollars and Magic Online tickets by importing each decklist into the Decked Builder app. Dollars are from CoolStuffInc.com, and tickets are from MTGOTraders.com. The graphs display the strategies, colors, and most-played archetypes of the Top 16.

Thragtusk is back on top after an all-time low last week. Restoration Angel found a home in eleven decks, and another Angel, Angel of Serenity, rode the rise of Bant and the return of Reanimator to appear in nearly half of the Top 16. Boros Reckoner fell off the list after a few weeks on top: Eleven copies were played in three of the Top 16 decks.

Notably absent from this list is Pillar of Flame. Only eight copies were played in the Top 16 in four different decks, all in the sideboard. Replacing Pillar is Tragic Slip, which is instant-speed removal for much of the roster of Naya Humans/Blitz and other aggressive decks, even without morbid. It also serves as a fine answer to the indestructibility of Falkenrath Aristocrat much of the time.
