* Rise of the Eldrazi is part of Zendikar block, which means that it will be part of Zendikar Block Constructed. But it’s a large set, which means that it will be drafted on its own; drafts will be either Zendikar-Zendikar-Worldwake or Rise of the Eldrazi-Rise of the Eldrazi-Rise of the Eldrazi.
A user over at mtgsalvation says he is in possession of a foil sheet of RoE cards. We are awaiting the scan but here is the information he has provided. ALL RUMOR AT THIS POINT!
Rumored Abilities
Eldrazi Temple
Tap: 1 colorless to your pool
Tap: 2 colorless to your pool. Spend this only on colorless Eldrazi spells or permanents.
Intro Pack names, colors, and card names of the foil rares(?):
Leveler’s Glory – WU – contains Student of Warfare (a creature with Leveler)
Leveler’s Scorn – UB – contains Sphinx of Magosi
Invading Spawn – BR – contains Drana, Kalasria Bloodchief
Eldrazi Arisen – RG – contains Conquering Manticore
Totem Power – GW – contains Gigantomancer
The speculated mechanic ‘Level up’, to the delight of many I’m sure, is actually called Leveler.
Some Auras will feature a mechanic called ‘Totem Armor’.
The speculated mechanic of Brood Lineage 0/1 tokens exists, however, they are called Spawn tokens. These tokens can be sacrificed for (colorless?) mana.
There is more than one Planeswalker in ROE.
The fat pack still contains a sample chapter, it does NOT contain the full novel.
“Lurking in the space between the aether and the physical plane, there is a great evil waiting to emerge.
Zendikar is a land of danger and adventure, a world of deadly risks and priceless rewards. It is also a prison to one of the most deadly species known to the Multiverse: the dreaded Eldrazi.
When our story opens, part of the mystical containment spell that has kept the Eldrazi captive for millennia has been breached. The brood lineage, the Eldrazi minions, have been released and are poring over the plane, devouring everything in their path, but the swath they cut across the land is nothing next to the destruction that the still-imprisoned Eldrazi Titans will wreck once released.
Nissa Revane, a planeswalker and proud elf warrior of the Jorga Nation, is witness to what the brood lineage can do. She sees that they pose a bigger problem than most suppose. Sorin, an ancient vampire planeswalker, knows this as well as anyone because he was among the original jailers of the ancient scourge. He has returned to Zendikar to make sure the Titans do not escape. They both want the Eldarzi threat extinguished but each has their own agenda. Nissa wants the Eldrazi off her plane entirely. Sorin wants to put the lock back on their cell.
And there are still others who want the Titans to escape. Together they set out across the land on search of the Eye of Ugin, the source of the Eldrazi uprising, where they will face what could be their final challenge. Will the Eldrazi escape to menace the Multiverse once again?”

This is going to be in every single EDH deck. I mean EVERY single one. no exceptions.
Dude… You’ve seen an Eldrazi…
Have you ever though “What if there’s more than one Eldrazi?”. If you did, you also would have though “Maybe there’s an even better one.” and then you wouldn’t have said what you did without knowing what’s gonna happen.
And your teory goes down the toilet (thought it might still be true, but you can’t be sure).
New spoilers (6 of ‘em!) coming out on Monday!
Also, this set is not going to be entirely colorless. If you take a good look at the cards being displayed on the intro packs, they are clearly not colorless.
Of course the whole thing isn’t colorless (sorry not saying anything to u personally). I don’t even see how anybody could think that. 1 colorless card comes out and people think the whole thing is colorless. Especially when there are going to be 3 planeswalkers, one being Sarkhan Vol. Not to mention all the anti-Eldrazi. :::shakes head::: I don’t know what else to say.
okay so here we go again. the new planeswalker is gideon. the one who helped sorin and another planeswalker (bolas??) seal the eldrazi milenia ago. he will have white in him. whether or not he will have another color, not telling. about the eldrazi. there will be 3 legendary ones. at which there will be “spawns” from each of the 3. and in each spawn group there will be “drones”. sarkhan vol is coming back. his colors are unknown. there will be colorless instant and sorcery spells. (yes read that again). be patient all of you, more will come soon. keep you all posted so stay tuned.
-MR Random
more like: The three Eldrazi will have a Brood Lineage each, of which consists of drones, all copies of the big one, and spawn, basically… mana fodder?
Was all of that not already widely known information?
He actually said: “here we go again”
ya i agree the chick might be drana but it also reminds me of like w knight or soldier and she doesnt look very evil compared to the other vamps
it shows drana onthe spoiler on that link i think it two links down it shows the into packs
The girl is Nissa. She, Jace, and Sorin are the ones who sealed the Eldrazi away.
And is it Gideon and Sarkhan coming back out as the new Planeswalkers?
could be, maybe
the eldrazi were locked up millenia ago, nissa didnt even know about them. the only ‘walkers old enough to be the three are sorrin, bolas, ob nixilis the fallen(even though he lost his spark, possibly durring the process of locking up the eldrazi)
Learn how to write (to be fair).
Sealed the Eldrazi away? I’m sorry you’re saying that Jace and Nissa are as old as Bolas or Sorin? Jace must be 30 years old, I dunno about Nissa. Bolas on the other hand is 20,000 years old and Sorin not much younger. We are talking about ancient history not 20 years ago.
Learn how to read.

seriously people. just read this. it will explain alot more than what you “think” will happen. once you read this. you should understand alot more.
Alright, good enough.
So, asuming that the second planeswork in RoE will truly be Gideon (whis is most lilely now, with that suspiciously exact picture http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_qTxgf8uqjbQ/S5epF_n-ohI/AAAAAAAAJqI/ok-kLjNLEEI/s1600-h/127248_CN.jpg )
There’s a posibility that this fella will be White/Black, ‘cos:
“Gideon, on the other hand, is not as “pure” as he would have people believe; he shows many traces of black characteristics, such as the willingness to sacrifice human life to further their own agenda.”
And that sounds reasonable, ‘cos it will also satysfy all those urges for white walker ;o)
MR Random’s posts are very matter-of-fact.
Anyone else find that interesting?
Did you just read all the books and extrapolate?
(MR = M. R. ? cuuurious)
MR or M.R. could stand for Mark Rosewater, a distinguished member of the Development Team for this set…maybe?
thats what i was implying
well let me just start by saying that I am not mark rosewater. nor no way near his brilliance. I am just someone who has dug around a lot to find what I want to find and to bring it here. And then second, nissa knows about the eldrazi, knows what they can do and therefor teams up with sorin to rid zendikar of that menace. nissa only cares about her and her elves, so that is why she is in this fight. example, she knows about as much of the eldrazi as we would now.
stay tuned

all info stated was already given by wizards, MR Random merely summarized it.
The planeswalkers that can emprison the eldrazi again are Sorin, Sarkhan(in Bolas` stead) and one unknown. Maybe the unknown walker is Gideon. ive seen a pretty nice picture of him slaying eldrazi drones, and we dont know very much about him…
Okay, so if not MaRo, then what’s the “MR” stand for?
[...] few days back, eyes weary from reading up on all the possible Rise of Eldrazi dirt, I slowly dozed off in front of my computer screen. During this unintentional nap I had a [...]
Guys why are we so sure that Gideon is the second Planeswalker? Do we have some evidence that he is or could be on Zendikar? Also remember we have yet to know the other one or two planeswalkers that trapped the Eldrazi (though along with Sorin I reckon Bolas was there as well) while the three that free them: Sarkhan, Chandra and Jace are already known.
the three that trapped the eldrazi are bolas, sorin, and ob nixilis (spelled wrong i bet) who lost his spark.
Hmmm thought popped in to my head after reading your post. Ob Nixilis was a planeswalker who trapped the Eldrazi? Maybe (just an idea people) he gets his spark back somehow and becomes a white planeswalker! Imagine that a white demon planeswalker. WHAT!? a white demon? ABSURD…Why? Fallen Angel is a black angel. And what would make it more believable is that his full name is Ob Nixilis THE FALLEN meaning he was once an angel!
he is called the fallen because he was once a planeswalker. Gideon is the white planeswalker of the set, so black would be more fit. in addition both sorin and bolas are black, making three black planeswalkers the captivators of the eldrazi… perhaps black/white?
Again: Guys why are we so sure that Gideon is the second Planeswalker? Do we have some evidence that he is or could be on Zendikar? If you know the answer to this question please post it.
he is on one of the boosters and multiple artworks given by wizards
The strongest evidence lies on his weapon, shown on the two released artworks. Gideon’s weapon (the Sural) is described as a bunch of scourges or whips, whatever you call that, bunched together, which are used not only for attacking, but also for casting hieromancy (white binding auras and stuff). I mean, who else (PW) uses that kind of weapon??? His physical appearance also resembles the description of Gideon from Chandra’s novel.
At least that’s my standpoint (his weapon) to assume that he is Gideon.
Is it possible that Ob’s spark was used to seal away the Eldrazi? Surely it would take some powerful essence, and a spark could be just that.
i thought about that as well. in addition, in the Eye, an inscription say: “3 goes in 2 comes out” or something, so that would make sense
All I know is I want that demon with the horns.
that’s probably an effreet
I want the original artwork of the blood-crying lady in black, but, alas, we can’t always have what we want. *sob*
Im thinking that Gideon is going to be another 3 colored Planeswalker…
If you look at his picture (which I know isn’t always true…) you will see Red, white, and blue.
Maybe this Planeswalker is meant for the American Control deck.
At least it’s a neat thought…
Here is a link with even more complete artworks with some descriptions and speculations.
http://www.mananation.com/rise-eldrazi-artwork-stunning/
I dont think that guy it a white planeswalker
i think hes red blue, just an idea since there are red/blue ribbons floating throughout the painting
he looks like he’s riding that eldrazi more than defeating it
he doesnt look very sane either
he looks mad
From the Fat Pack picture, it looks like full art lands are not included. Is this set going to have full art, or are they going back to normies?
Any chance that the flying angel chick with the glowing hoop staff facing off against the Eldrazi in the spoiler art could be the white planeswalker??
I mean, since her staff seems to have burned an image onto its skull, maybe she’s powerful enough to stop them.
…also, I’d like to think that the dude riding the dragon in the other art is some type of Specter! Maybe a B/R to join Blazing, or maybe our first all red specter!!!
If you read the new section of the webcomic on the magic official page they introduce gideon and call him an illusionist. In the books it says he is white or from a world a section of mostly white mages but considering that he is an illusionist and his armor is blue it’s most likely he is a white/blue planeswalker
what are you talking about? the newest webcomic is about Jace
Removed art due to server slamming image hotlinkers

Real or fake?
I say FAKE.
If it destorys all non-land permanents when it comes into play, it would destroy itself.
