This card is so powerful! It can dominate a table, and muscle folks around. With a casting cost of merely 4 mana, you get the ability to have four separate libraries and four separate options for drawing various cards. Any given draw you take will let you choose the library you are drawing from. That’s a lot of power already loaded in, but the Split Screen’s ability to play strongly with a lot of powerful and impactful cards for little mana is even more impressive.

So let’s take a look at the power of this card!

Normally, Split Screen is going to let you draw the best card out of four any time you draw. That’s amazingly strong already . . .

Here’s one obvious and powerful (and arguably iconic example) Sensei's Divining Top.

Sensei's Divining Top

You can invest a single mana and choose which of the four libraries you will reassess for more card options. And you can rearrange the card to ensure that you are drawing the best out of twelve cards rather than out of four. Sensei's Divining Top is like the remote control that can unlock the power of your Split Screen.

And it’s not all. Many other powerful cards get even worse with Split Screen! Here’s another for your viewing pleasure . . .

Brainstorm

Yeah, it’s just Brainstorm. But Brainstorm was good enough to get banned or restricted in a lot of formats. It’s cheap, and the ability to draw three cards for one mana at instant speed is always broken, especially when you can restock any two cards from your hand to the top of your library.

Do you see it?

You can draw three cards from library 1, which has the best card on top. And then, after seeing what you have, you can put the other top cards on top of a card or land that you might not have wanted to draw anyways, thus relegating all of the cards you don’t want right now into the same library. Now, we probably are going to wait until the (unofficial) rulings are out, but I think you can draw three cards from any library, so you could draw a card from library 1, and then, another from library 2, and then your third from 2, seeing what Is revealed each time. Hence, Brainstorm becomes even more broken with a Split Screen out!

How about the destructive capability with Bob?

Dark Confidant

You can reliably choose a card with the lowest casting cost, while still useful, and draw it! By sculpting it with four given options, your Bob is a lot nastier than normal!

Choose which library to use for Oath of Druids! Breaking a synergetic card like this is how you can abuse a card like this. Split Screen helps!

Oath of Druids

Think about the interaction of this card with something like . . .

Future Sight
Oracle of Mul Daya

Both Future Sight and Oracle of Mul Daya show ways of just breaking Split Screen in half, particularly Future Sight! You can see the power of Future Sight here pretty easily, as you can now play the cards of all four of your libraries pretty much all the time. Drop lands from Oracle of Mul Daya to clear out the good stuff so you can continue to draw and abuse the powerful cards here.

Split Screen is definitely ready for prime time!
