Today on the mothership Wizards has begun introducing mechanics of Magic 2012, which will also be part of the Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 game. Read the full post here, otherwise read on for our summary of the announcements.

1. "Hexproof" - Hexproof is the new keyword for the "Troll-shroud" mechanic popularized by Troll Ascetic. It will appear on a new card in Magic 2012: Dungrove Elder.

2. "Dies" - Wizards is seeking to simplify the text required for cards, and 'dies' will now represent "When [this card] is put into the graveyard from the battlefield"

3. Bloodthirst - This mechanic will return in Magic 2012, originally introduced in Guildpact.

4. Sorin Markov is being reprinted, no change to wording.

5. Chandra's Phoenix is the Buy-a-box promo. As revealed in today's Arcana!
