Zendikar Spoilers 249/249

zendikarspoilerlist1

As with all of our spoiler lists, only fully revealed cards will be displayed here. Cards with missing game text will not be featured. We will include cards without revealed art and update them appropriately. Many of these cards are revealed in other languages and translated into English so the exact names and readings of the cards may differ. I have taken the liberty of creating the cards myself in a set editor so please forgive some of the artistic deformities. This is the nature of a Visual Spoiler. Stay tuned to this page and MTG Realm for the latest spoilers. Expect commentary weekly on the Gathering Magic main page as cards are revealed.

Anyone realize how good Knight of the Reliquary just became for Landfall?

  • Jr says:

After the pre-release I agree Landfall is fun. That was the 1st time I ever sat in a stale mate, both of us with an empty hand and plenty of land in play, then topped decked a land and smiled because I knew I just won the game.

  • John says:

Eternity vessel saved me so many times in the prerelease…

  • Tyrael says:

    Pre-release yesterday.I opened 6 boosters.First booster G/B fetch land.2nd Booster Foil Mindbreak Trap+Bloodghast,3rd booster G/U Fetchland,4th booster foil Rampaging Baloths+Day of Judgement,5th booster Sorrin Markhov and foil Kazandu Blademaster & 6th booster Luminarch Ascencion.I had 3 Khandi heart Expendition & 4 Harrow!!GBW Rocked!!Everyone were dazed with my token deck :D :D:D:D

    • Deakon Avory says:

I also had a great pull in my pre-release this week end! In my game I pulled a FOIL W/B fetch land, Sorin, the Mythic Dragon, and the red Mythic Elemental.

Then in my prize packs I pulled the U/G and the W/R fetch lands AND an other Sorin! I was quite pleased!!!!

It was a good week end all in all! My Gaming store does a great job in putting on a pre-release!

    • dan says:

thats some bullshit, yeah i opened 6 priceless treasures at my release

  • Tyrael says:

I am thinkinking for a G/B vampire deck.I will splash green only for Maelstrom Pulse,Harrow and Khandi Heart Expendition(my favorite common of the set)What do you think?

Let play Realm Razer with some landfall card.IMBA
Cast Realm Razer and use some spell to destroy or sacrifice your own Realm Razer.

    ZENDIKAR TODAY

  • Tyrael says:

Second Place in FNM today.Reward six boosters.Picks:2 g/b fetchlands.1 b/w fetchland and 1 day of judgement.I am very very happy!!!! :D

  • the dude says:

Dunno if anyone has mentioned this yet but for standard I’m liking the look of kicked blood tribute with sanguine bond out. Eternity vessel and malakir bloodwitch both go nicely with sanguine as well.

    • Tyrael says:

The Sanguine Bond is combo with blood tribute and the bloodwitch but not with Eternity Vessel. With Eternity Vessel your life becomes equal to its counters, you dont gain life equal its counters. There is a difference friend

      • the dude says:

Yeah I reread eternity vessel and found it wouldn’t work, bit of a downer there. Thanks for the heads up before I wasted time getting one :)

        • Rhythmik says:

Please read the comp rules before you say things.

“117.5. If an effect sets a player’s life total to a specific number, the player gains or loses the necessary amount of life to end up with the new total.”

          Eternity vessel works.

    • dan says:

the broblem with blood tribute is that for 6 mana, it cannot win the game, yeas with a second card in play it can, but ob nixilis the fallen x realm razer? gg. way better two card combo.

      • the dude says:

I’ve tried out the blood tribute + sanguine bond combo now and its an easy 6th turn win, and getting a vampire nighthawk out early can easily keep your opponent from attacking until then. Of course I wouldnt recomend relying on this combo alone, that would just be silly, but it’s a nice one to have

      • Rhythmik says:

Blood tribute and sanguine bond curve out together, and are in a single color. Your combo is in FOUR colors, and double black.
Good luck getting your T5 Ob, T6 Razer, then getting the razer to die before Ob does.
I’m not saying Bond + Blood tribute is good, but it’s better than Ob + Razer.

  • dude. says:

Just a thought for you all… anybody thought of doing a STANDARD zoo deck?

    4x ancient ziggurat
    4x terramorphic expanse
    2x island
    2x swamp
    2x mountain
    2x plains
    8x forrest

    4x howling mine

    4x birds of paradise,
    4x lotus cobra

24x other creatures mostly 1-2 mana, maybe some 3 mana creatures? I mean, rediculous zoo deck.

    • Rocky says:

Yeah, I just went up against a couple of zoo decks last night. I was running a Vampire control which worked well for the most part, but they don’t work fast enough. Even Lacerator and Gul Draz can’t keep up with some of those fast Jund’s or w/g decks, though Gatekeeper is amazing.

      • the dude says:

Yeah I’ve found cycling gatekeepers with an aristocrat and some soul stair expeditions or disentombs works really well. Throw a blade of the bloodchief on the aristocrat and you have yourself a nice big creature while removing your opponents.

  • Tyrael says:

Last 4 boosters in the store.I say wtf?Let’s give it a try.I pulled 1 foil Warren Instigator with Blade of Bloodchief & three fetchlands(g/u-g/b and r/u)I am very happy!! :D Everyone were stunned!!! :D

    • Rhythmik says:

So, in 18 packs, you pulled Eight Fetchlands, two foil mythics, and two Day of Judgements? I opened a box and pulled 3 Black lotus.

I’m calling complete bullshit of this guy. Noone cares what you did or didn’t pull. This is the internet; take your compulsive lying elsewhere.

      • Rhythmik says:

        Edit – THREE foil mythics.

        • Deakon Avory says:

WHAT are you talking about? he opened 4 packs and got a foil mythic and 3 fetch lands… let him be! I had a similar pull in 5 packs. (Sorin and 2 fetch lands)

          • Rhythmik says:

I’ve had similar pulls in sealed, but read this guy’s previous posts. He bragged twice more about his prerelease pull, and something about a pull in prize packs. All over the course of about eighteen packs. Seems like bullshit to me.

after playing with all the cards from Zendikar i find that it is much funer with some of the new cards. but i still like my white red ajani vengeant deck to be quite fun. but i really like the new red plainswalker.

Which plains walker do you find to be the best?

    • the dude says:

Nicol bolas would have to be my best planeswalker. +3 to destroy a noncreature permanent, well there goes any other planeswalker, as well as lands if you have nothing better to remove. -2 for controlling a creature is also very good for its cost and can keep nicol in play much longer if used right, and his last ability can easily turn the tide in a game and isn’t too hard to pull off.
