Lately in Standard, B/G based Delirium decks have been dominating. Eric Froehlich had an impressive 8-2 record with the deck at Pro Tour Kaladesh and said it was one of the best decks he has ever played. He went on to top 16 the MOCS and half the decks at GP Providence, including 1st and 2nd place were all Golgari Delirium. This deck is great, but everyone has their own build. The original creator, Eric Froehlich has been playing versions that are a bit more aggressive but some of them have been getting very controlling. Today's list is a more aggressive variant that really leverages the power of Grim Flayer and Smuggler's Copter in conjunction with Scrapheap Scrounger. This deck is able to come out of the gates very quickly, while still having good card quality, card advantage and removal for any threat. Similar to the Grim Flayer decks in Modern, you get to come out swinging and over power your opponent while picking apart their synergies.

A pretty good record and a pretty good deck! This archetype has definitely perked my interest as something to play in my next tournament. The ability to start curving out on turn one, ways to smooth out a draw and good raw power that scales up into the late game are all great qualities that make an appearance in this archetype. Mournwillow was a card in particular that I had my eye on and I was happy to see that it fit into the deck perfectly. Drana on the other hand shined a few times but felt weak over all. I think for my next session I will try a 4th Mournwillow and 2 Lilianas over the Dranas. Another thing that I will change are the Traverse the Ulvenwalds into Collective Brutalities. Traverse felt kind of awkward and slow but Collective Brutality gives a little bit of surprise reach, impacts the board more quickly and is better at enabling delirium. Collective Brutality does not interact with Smuggler's Copter particularly well so maybe a 2-1 split with a Murder is best.
